Pratima EnfieldPratima Enfield

Executive Director

Dr. Pratima Enfield leads programs for adult learners and mid-career professionals at Johns Hopkins SAIS and is the founding director of the Office of Educational Design and Technology. Dr. Enfield has a BA in English from Delhi University, an MA in Literature from Fitchburg State University, and a PhD in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University Bloomington. With almost 20 years of experience in the field of learning design, her academic and professional journey has centered around strategically leading initiatives in personalized learning, skill-gaps analysis, professional development opportunities and leadership.


Sandra ChadwellSandra Chadwell

Associate Director of Instructional Design

Sandra joined the Educational Design and Technology (EDT) Office at Johns Hopkins SAIS in August 2019. She began her career in instructional technology at a community college in Virginia, where she was appointed the full-time Blackboard Administrator and Trainer. Sandra enjoyed helping faculty and students navigate instructional technology and decided to pursue an Instructional Design & Development MEd from George Mason University. She completed the degree in 2012. Sandra began working at Johns Hopkins Advanced Academic Programs in 2015 as an instructional designer where she collaborated with faculty in the design and development of over 75 online courses. 


Jennifer StawaszJennifer Stawasz

Instructional Designer

Jennifer is an Instructional Designer with more than fifteen years of experience in higher education. She comes to SAIS from Northern Virginia Community College, where she served as Instructional Designer and Faculty. Jennifer has also served as Adjunct Faculty at Virginia Tech and George Mason University. Prior to her career in higher education, Jennifer worked as an International Economist with the U.S. Foreign Agricultural Service. Jennifer holds degrees from The Fletcher School at Tufts University, the College of Education and Human Development at George Mason University, and Dartmouth College.


Maria TobarMaria Tobar

Instructional Designer

Maria has more than five years of experience in higher education. She has taught courses within business in online, hybrid and face-to-face modalities. Additionally, she designed state-wide curriculum for the insurance certificate for Ivy Tech Community College. Her instructional design experience with Indiana University provided the opportunity to design undergraduate, graduate and professional development courses. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Ball State University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Prairie View A&M University.


David Serna David Serna

Instructional Technologist

David has experience in higher education and EdTech, specializing in emerging instructional technologies. At the University of the District of Columbia’s Center for the Advancement of Learning, he concentrated on HyFlex and immersive technologies. His professional journey includes creating comprehensive online training programs aimed at enhancing student engagement for over 60,000 teachers in China, and he started his teaching career abroad in South Korea. David holds an M.Ed. in Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum from the University of Missouri and a B.A. in American Literature & Culture from the University of California, Los Angeles.


Dorothy LaminaDorothy Lamina

Program Coordinator

Dorothy Lamina graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a double major in Political Science and Global Studies. She then devoted two years to Teach for AmeriCorps in New Jersey, igniting her passion for education. Following this, Dorothy gained experience as an admissions assistant at the International Institute of Education. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in international development with a focus on education at American University, driven by her goal to enhance educational opportunities globally. Recently joining the EDT team as the Online Programs Coordinator for the MASE and MAGR programs, Dorothy is eager to support students in their academic journeys.
